We do require 2 references and if you lease, we will require either the landlord's name and number or your a copy of the page of your lease that states that you can have a pet.

If you are over 24 and do not own the house are living in, for example, with your parents, a parent/guardian or owner of the house must be present for the virtual house check and be the one to sign the adoption papers.
Meet Sushi! This handsome boy was brought in by a kind stranger. He was shy at first but has acclimated so well to the rescue and has made so many friends in both cats and volunteers. He is very vocal when he wants attention and extremely food motivated! Sushi is 4 years old, neutered, and up to date.
Meet Gingerbread! This sweetie pie was brought to the kill shelter as a stray. We were contacted because he was not doing well in the shelter environment and needed some extra TLC to recover from a bad URI. From the second he came through the door, he was a favorite of both the volunteers and our social media followers. This love bug is just hoping for a family to give him all the hugs and chin scratches in the world. Gingerbread is just about 1 year old, neutered and up to date.
Meet George and Gracie! This gorgeous brother sister duo found themselves homeless when their owner died. We knew we had to help them! They were front declawed by their owner a few years ago, but otherwise they happy mushy cats looking for a forever home where they can spend the next chapter of their lives together! George and Gracie are 7 years old, fixed, and up to date.
Meet Timmy Turner! He is a loving and affectionate 6-7 month old kitten that is looking for a forever home! We've had Timmy since he was a baby, when someone brought him to the rescue after finding him alone on the streets. He bonded with the other cats and kittens instantly! You can always find him hanging out on a comfortable couch or bed, snuggling with his friends. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date.
Meet Simon! Simon was rescued over the summer with 2 other kittens. He is the shyest of the 3 but loves to cuddle and play with his friends. Once he is comfortable, you can find him lying around or sleeping in a comfy spot. He is about 4-5 months old, up to date, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
Meet Tom! This beautiful boy was found with almost 100 other cats after a fire. He was a little confused when he first came to the rescue but opened up almost instantly once he was given treats and chin scratches! Tom is also a star of the cat playroom, already rushing to greet every visitor by brushing up against them and jumping on their lap. Please give this ray of sunshine the forever home he deserves after all he has been through! Tom is about 2 years old, neutered, and up to date.
Meet Pablo! This handsome boy was found with almost 100 other cats after a fire. Despite all he has been through he has always been in such amazing spirits-he is such a sweet and silly boy! From the second he went in our cat playroom he was friends with everybody and could not stop exploring. Pablo has such a youthful soul and would love a forever family where he can play and snuggle as much as he wants! Pablo is 5 years old, neutered, and up to date.
Meet Belle! This beautiful girl ended up in the kill shelter after being surrendered by her owner. We were then contacted to help her because she was not doing well in the shelter environment. Belle is adjusting great to life in our cat playroom and is already making friends! She loves to curl up on a nice fuzzy bed and is looking for a forever family to snuggle with! Will you give this baby girl the love she has been waiting for? Belle is 2 years old, spayed, and up to date.
Meet Annabelle! We were contacted about her by a volunteer who found out she was declawed and thrown in a garage for not getting along with kids. The owner then surrendered her to the rescue where some determined volunteers got her to open up enough to make it to a loving foster home. She now has two foster siblings who she has started to play with and loves to jump up on the couch as well as curl up in boxes. She is in need of a patient forever family to work on petting and being picked up.
Meet Tina! This beautiful girl was found on the street corner with her brother August last summer. She has come so far in the rescue and has made so many friends! The other kittens took her right in-she can always be found snuggling with someone else or having play time. She has also really opened up to our volunteers. Tina is about 6-8 months, spayed, and up to date.
Meet Nino! Nino was left at the kill shelter and he was NOT happy about being there. The first few weeks, he would not allow anyone to pet him- he LOVES petting now, will rub right into you to tell you he wants attention! He loves playing with the other cats and volunteers. He would do best with older kids who can respect boundaries and is unknown with dogs. Nino has hyperthyroidisim which is managed by a small pill which he takes easily with food. He is 5 years old, neutered, and up to date.
Meet Lee. We were contacted by a real estate agent that him and his brother were left behind by the previous owners. He was so scared. After he acclimated at the rescue, he was very mellow and loved the company of the others. He loves to be brushed and pet, but also wants his boundaries respected. He is a very mellow old man who needs a place to lay and relax for the rest of his days. He is estimated to be about 10-12 years old, up to date but not neutered. Lee is feline coronavirus positive.
Meet Lola and Juno. These girls were neglected since they were kittens-they were thrown in an attic for 10-12 years. When we received them, Lola's nails were severely curled into her paw pads, making it painful to walk. Juno was severely skinny and malnourished. After being vetted it was discovered that Juno had hyperthyroidism. It is being managed with one pill twice daily. These 12 year old ladies need a calm environment to live out their days together and learn what love is.
Meet Oliver! We were contacted by a local vet that someone was feeding him when they noticed he had a large wound on his inner leg. They told the feeder he would need to stay inside to heal and they were not going to do so. Even though Oliver was in pain, he was the sweetest boy and allowed all handling. He is very mellow and loves to snuggle with his friends all day! He gets along great with other cats. Oliver is about a year old, is neutered and up to date.
Meet Shiva! Shiva and her brother Simon were rescued last summer along with one other kitten. They can be shy at first but once they are comfortable in their new surroundings, they love to run around and play with their toys. They are definitely cuddle bugs and can be adopted separate but would love to end up in a forever home together or with other cats. They are both 4-5 months old fixed, up to date, and microchipped.
Meet Penelope! She was found wandering the streets by a volunteer who brought her in after noticing what a sweetie pie she is! Penelope loves to be pet and snuggled. She is between 2-4 years old, up to date, and spayed.
Meet Logan and Luna! They have come such a long way in the rescue. They were found on the streets of Freeport by a volunteer. We knew we had to help because they are just the cutest duo! They have partial vision loss but that has not stopped them from being the most adorable, playful, brother and sister ever. They are about 10 months old, fixed, and up to date. THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER!
Meet Eva! This beautiful girl looking for a loving forever home filled with good snuggle spots. Her brother Wally has been adopted but somehow she is still here! Eva would do best in a home with another cat because she LOVES to cuddle. She is so friendly and has tons of love to give. Eva is only about 1-2 years old, spayed, and up to date.
Meet LJ! This 17 year old senior mush ball was brought to our attention after his owner with many cats passed away. He came in with his brother who was his best friend and snuggle buddy. Unfortunately he passed due to old age. LJ absolutely loves people and other cats. Someone please give this boy a loving home to spend the rest of his live in. He has been through so much!
Meet Salem! We received a call from a volunteer who was concerned about a family of kittens near her house. We knew we had to step in! Salem was the most shy of his brothers which is why he is the last remaining, but he has become so playful. He has become a visitors favorite and is waiting for the day that someone takes him home. He is about 6 months old neutered, microchipped, and up to date.
Meet Halo! A kind stranger found him wandering the streets alone and brought him to a vet office where a volunteer was working. He got his name from being such an angel! Halo is such a silly boy and loves to explore. He also loves attention from humans as well as other cats. Halo is about 5 years old. He is neutered and up to date.
Meet Cassidy! Cassidy has been with us for some time now and she still waiting for a forever home. She foster or adopter who can work with her on trusting humans and accepting love. She will require more one-on-one time, but has been opening up to our volunteers so much. She loves other cats but would do best in a quiet home. She is 1-2 years old, up to date, spayed and microchipped.
Twinkle was a part of a TNR project in Elmont. Twinkle loves to explore the playroom as well as snuggle with her feline friends. She has trust issues and takes awhile to warm up but once she does, she loves to be shown affection and be pet! She is about 1year old, up to date and spayed. She will require a patient foster or adopter who will allow her time to decompress and get used to her surroundings. Will you give this beautiful girl a chance?
Momma is a HUGE fan favorite! This beautiful girl is the mother of Zeus, Eros, and Achilles. She is the biggest mush ball and just wants to be loved! She is good with other cats, but would prefer her siblings to be at her same mellow energy level. She is about 3 years old, up to date, spayed, and microchipped.
Meet Lexy! Lexy is one of 4 other siblings that were rescued in Queens. They were all adopted and somehow she is still with us! She is the first to plop on anyone's lap who sits in the play room.Lexy is super playful and affectionate with both cats and humans. Lexy is almost 2 years old, spayed, and up to date.
