About Us
Lend-a-Paw Inc. was created in August of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, the outdoor cat population was at an all-time high. Spay/neuter clinics were closed and shelters were at limited capacity.
We started off in a garage, and by November 2021 we were able to expand to our first facility in Oceanside, NY. Shortly thereafter, we began rescuing dogs as well, and we've continued to rescue the most vulnerable dogs and cats in overcrowded shelters, as well as to help people and their pets in need within our community.
Since we started, we've rescued 463 cats and 244 dogs. We wouldn't be able to save so many lives without the continued support of our donors, fosters, adopters, and volunteers--thank you to everyone!
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide the necessary resources to sick/injured/unwanted cats and dogs. We look to educate on TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Release) services and the benefits of neutering/spaying outdoor cats, as well as providing educational resources on pit bulls and bully breeds.
We ensure all animals receive the necessary comfort, care, and compassion they need to be adopted.
Lend-a-Paw Inc. receives no federal or state funding. We rely on our volunteers and the generosity of the public for food donations and monetary contributions.
